Law firm to examine D.C. juvenile justice system

Another big law firm is offering some free advice to the city, this time on the problem of youth violence.

Lawyers at Nixon, Peabody will examine the city’s youth justice system and recommend ways to keep the kids from killing others, or getting killed themselves.

The pro bono investigation was announced by Councilman David Catania, at large, who said the investigation was prompted by the March 30 rampage on South Capitol Street.

The Washington Examiner has reported that at least four wards of the city’s juvenile justice agency have been killed since the beginning of the year; another nine are accused of being killers themselves.
