The Federal Bureau of Investigation on Thursday launched a raid on a Corona, Calif., home connected to a perpetrator in the Dec. 2 terrorist attack in San Bernardino.
“Federal agents executed a search warrant at a residence in Corona to seek evidence in an ongoing investigation,” said FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller. The home belonged to Syed Raheel Farook, brother of Syed Rizwan Farook, one of two shooters in the attack that killed 14 and injured 22.
Agents were seen leaving with computers and reams of paper, though no arrests were made, according to neighbors who spoke with the San Bernardino Sun. Farook’s father was detained prior to the raid.
“Residents are routinely removed for a brief period while a home is cleared as a safety precaution,” Eimiller said.
The incident comes days after a federal judge ordered tech giant Apple to assist the FBI in trying to access the contents of an iPhone that belonged to the shooter. The agency has been unable to crack security protocols on the device.
In contrast with his brother, military records indicate that Syed Raheel Farook served in the Navy from 2003-2007. A search warrant requires officials to present probable cause that a subject was involved with a crime, and that items related to it are likely to be found.

Both Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, died during the attack. The only person charged in relation to it so far is Enrique Marzquez, who allegedly provided the assault weapons used by the couple.
