The chairman of the California Democratic Party called for a boycott of In-N-Out Burger after the fast food chain donated $25,000 to Republicans ahead of the November midterm elections.
“Et tu In-N-Out? Tens of thousands of dollars donated to the California Republican Party… it’s time to #BoycottInNout,” Eric Bauman tweeted. “Let Trump and his cronies support these creeps… perhaps animal style!”

The burger chain donated $30,000 last year to Republicans, as well as $30,000 to the party in 2016, according to the Sacramento Bee. The chain, founded in California, has also donated tens of thousands of dollars to a California pro-business political action committee that aims to elect centrist Democrats. In 2017, it gave $80,000 to the PAC.
This is not the first time a fast food chain has been in hot water over political stances.
Activists supportive of LGBT rights called for boycotts against Chick-fil-A in 2012 after a company executive said he was against same-sex marriage.
