Who: Editors of Time magazine What: Named “The protestor” as person of the year for 2011, citing the Arab spring protests and Occupy Wall Street.
Why its dim: This has to be TIME’s worst cop-out since 2006, when they made “YOU” person of the year. More to the point, any attempt to equate those struggling for democracy in the Middle East with the aimless, degenerate mob still defiling parks across America is a serious mistake.
The Cure: TIME should just discontinue this feature if it’s going to handle it this way.
