Mystery continues to shroud the death of a Baltimore County mother found wrapped in a blanket on the side of a road in September as police release sparse details about her slaying.
Police said Tuesday that an autopsy proved 40-year-old Roxanne Stitz Amick, of Perry Hall, was killed, but described the cause of death only as “multiple injuries.” Police said further detail could impede their investigation. The state Medical Examiner?s Office declined to discuss the case.
County police searched Amick?s home on Necker Avenue Sept. 19 ? four days after her body was discovered in a wooded area of Belair Road ? and questioned her husband, Michael Amick. Department spokesman Cpl. Michael Hill would neither confirm nor deny Amick?s present status as a suspect, but said he is not in their custody. No one has been arrested or charged yet, he said.
A family member reported Amick, who has two children, missing Sept. 14 after she left the house Sept. 13 in her van and never returned home. Police found her 1998 green Plymouth Voyager in the parking lot of the Perry Hall Shopping Center later that day.
