President Obama on Thursday signed into law the spending bill that will keep the federal government open after the fiscal year ends on Friday.
The continuing resolution allows the federal government to remain open until Dec. 9. It also funds efforts to combat the Zika virus but not money to aid Flint, Mich., after its lead water crisis.
Obama signed the bill into law right before leaving the White House for Israel, where he will attend and speak at former Israeli President Shimon Peres’ funeral.
