GOP Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw is excited to hear two of the internet’s most popular figures are considering a move to his home state because of California’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Crenshaw said Texas will benefit greatly if Tesla CEO Elon Musk and podcaster Joe Rogan take up residence in the state after both men expressed interest in leaving California earlier this week.
“Texas is gonna be even more awesome, if that was even possible. Joe Rogan, Elon Musk…anyone else? Texas is open for business for freedom loving Americans.”

In his tweet, Crenshaw shared a Barstool Sports article that linked to comments Rogan made on his podcast Wednesday, suggesting he might move out of California.
“Hey, I might move to Texas,” Rogan said. “If California continues to be this restrictive, I don’t know if this is a good place to live.”
Rogan, who hosts the most downloaded podcast in the world and is the top commentator for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, has, in the past, spoken of his issues with living in the Los Angeles area and his desire to move.
On Tuesday, Los Angeles County officials said lockdown restrictions in the Southern California area would continue until at least the end of July, prompting backlash from residents who are already concerned about the state of the economy.
Musk, who joined Rogan’s podcast last week, has voiced skepticism about the mortality rate associated with the coronavirus and has used his Twitter account on multiple occasions during the pandemic to call for a loosening of California’s stay-at-home order.
On Saturday, Musk said he was considering moving his Tesla manufacturing factory from California to Texas. Two days later, Musk dared authorities to arrest him after he reopened his manufacturing factory in Fremont, California.
