Joe Biden leads the Democratic presidential primary field with 32% support, according to a new poll.
An Oct. 6-8 survey by Fox News, released Thursday night, found the former vice president’s support increased by three points since September. His main rival for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, notched 22% support, an increase of six points.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders sits in third at 17 %, a decrease of one point, according to the poll, conducted under the joint direction of Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company (R). The survey, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points for all registered voters and 4.5 points for Democratic primary voters (484), includes interviews with 1,003 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide who spoke with live interviewers on both landlines and cellphones.

Those three maintain a massive lead over the rest of the pack. California Sen. Kamala Harris sits in fourth place with 5% support — a two-point decrease from last month — and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg is in fifth place at 4%, a one-point drop.
While Biden still leads the primary field, his current support represents roughly half of the 19-point lead he enjoyed in June. The increase of Warren’s support mostly comes from picking up suburban voters, those who identify as “very liberal,” and men.
The survey also found that both Warren and Biden hold major leads over President Trump in a hypothetical matchup, both earning 50% of registered voters’ support, over the Republican incumbent’s 40%.
According to the poll, 50% of voters find Warren trustworthy, while 48% say the same of Biden. 35% of voters say the same of Trump.
