A Baltimore man and woman were indicted Friday on attempted murder charges in the March shooting of a Baltimore City police officer.

Sherray Q. Douglas, 20, of the 2400 block of Ridgely Street, and Jobrea Lodge, also 20, of the 2400 block of Dorton Court, were indicted on attempted murder, attempted robbery and other charges, the Baltimore City State?s Attorney?s Office said.

Dante Hemingway, a detective with the department, was shot three times March 30 after Douglas called and told him to come to the Westport area in South Baltimore, apparently setting him up for a robbery, according to charging documents.

After several rounds of surgery, Hemingway remains in serious condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, an official there said.

Other officers and police department colleagues of Hemingway?s have visited him regularly at Shock Trauma since the shooting, said his mother, Deborah Hemingway.

“He has a lot of support,” Hemingway said last week.

Lodge was also injured in the March 30 incident, the charging documents say; he was found in the Westport area that day with a gunshot wound to the left leg.

Lodge was arrested the day after the shooting and charged with attempted murder.

Douglas was initially arrested on attempted murder and other charges under the name Brittaney Johnson. At a court appearance shortly after her April 3 arrest, it was clarified that she is actually Sherray Douglas.

Both Lodge and Douglas are being held without bail at the Baltimore City Detention Center, the State?s Attorney?s Office said. A court appearance is scheduled for May 24.
