A teenage Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet died from injuries sustained during a training accident in Idaho.

MacKenzie Wilson, 19, of Eagle River, Alaska, died in a Humvee accident during a training exercise at the Saylor Creek Bombing Range in southern Idaho, the Mountain Home Air Force Base announced on Sunday. The accident, which occurred on Friday, injured two others, according to the base.

“Today we lost a member of our Air Force family. We express our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of all the individuals,” said Col. Ernesto DiVittorio, 366th Fighter Wing commander. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”

The two other injured people were transported to St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho, and have since been released, according to Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Nineteen Air Force ROTC cadets were at the Idaho base participating in Operation Air Force, described by the Air Force as “an immersive professional development training opportunity to expose cadets to a variety of different mission sets.”
