General Dynamics Corp., the maker of Abrams battle tanks and Gulfstream business jets, received a $2.2 billion contract to build 724 light armored vehicles for an unidentified foreign buyer.
The vehicles will be supplied by a Canadian subsidiary to the buyer through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program, Falls Church-based General Dynamics said Tuesday. The program, managed by the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency, acts as an agent to countries buying U.S. arms.
