Herndon-based RCN Corp. has received a contract to outfit Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago for cable and Internet services, the company announced. The firm will outfit the condominiums in the building for “triple play” services, which include voice, Internet and cable, and provide free cable video services for the hotel rooms at the building.
The contract value was not disclosed.
“I think it’s an excellent opportunity for us,” said Tom McKay, vice president and Chicago general manager for RCN.
The firm already outfits a number of luxury condominium buildings in the city. They are also supplying the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington with services. The infrastructure will be installed in Trump tower by December, when the hotel portion of the building will open, McKay said. Occupancy of the residential condominiums is expected to begin in April 2008.
