An executive at the Motion Picture Association of America is leaving her job to start her own public relations firm in D.C.
The last day for Gayle Osterberg’s, MPAA vice president for corporate communications, was Friday. She is moving on to found 133 Public Affairs, which will officially launch this fall.
The firm will concentrate on media outreach, event planning and coalition work, Osterberg said Friday. She has already signed the MPAA and Rogues Harbor Studio, which is releasing the documentary “Shoot Down” this year, as clients. She will bring on a partner in the fall.
Osterberg said she hopes to continue advocacy work related to intellectual property protection, which was a main focus of her efforts at the MPAA.
“I feel very strongly and very passionately that copyright protection is important,” Osterberg said.
Before her job at the MPAA, Osterberg worked on the Hill for 12 years, assisting officials including Sen. Don Nickles, R-Okla., and Sen. Judd Greg, R-N.H.
