Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G could be a force to be reckoned with.
Sprint.
You knew that the “HTC Supersonic” was supposed to be announced today at CTIA and indeed, Sprint has unveiled their unbelievable, WiMax enabled device that is apparently now dubbed the EVO 4G.
Apparently the EVO 4G takes a few hardware characteristics from the HD2 which, if everything goes according to plan, should be coming out tomorrow. And it also has Android, which we’ve known for a long time. The rest of the specs are nothing short of mind blowing.
A 480 x 800 4.3-inch TFT LCD.
A Snapdragon QSD8650 1GHz processor.
1GB of built-in memory and 512MB of RAM.
8 mega-pixel camera with flash and 720p capabilities.
Bigger battery than the HD2.
1.3 megapixel front facing camera.
HDMI out, 802.11b/g WiFi, 8GB microSD card.
Android 2.1 with Sense UI.
Wow. I am utterly speechless and you should be too. This might make some potential HD2 buyers stop in their tracks especially with Android 2.1 staring them in the face. Face it; it’s better than WinMo 6.5. This offering from Sprint is especially mind blowing because the phone runs on 4G.
Although some of us won’t taste 4G from Sprint until later on this year. Remember the name, HTC EVO 4G, because it definitely has a chance to equal the Nexus One and the iPhone.
Remember, the HTC HD2 drops tomorrow on T-Mobile, head to your local T-Mobile store to grab one. Or you can just wait for this beast. Apple might want to think about dropping that new iPhone this summer huh?
