Business Roundtable President: Ryan Budget ‘Courageous’

John Engler, the former three-term governor of Michigan and current president of the Business Roundtable, calls the House Republican budget proposal a “courageous exercise” and says it has “intriguing ideas” regarding tax and entitlement reforms.

“I think the budget itself is a…courageous exercise,” Engler told reporters at a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor. He went on to praise House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan’s efforts to address runaway entitlement spending, calling it “pretty responsible.”
