A Northern California mayor announced his resignation after several women lodged sexual assault allegations against him, including reality TV star Farrah Abraham.
Windsor Mayor Dominic Foppoli said he would step down after a six-week investigation by the San Francisco Chronicle detailed several allegations, though he denied engaging in unwanted sexual encounters.

“I have always and will always maintain that I did not engage in any non-consensual sexual acts with any woman,” Foppoli said in a statement.
Abraham, a social media influencer and reality TV star, alleged Foppoli, 38, sexually assaulted her in Palm Beach, Florida, in March, but the mayor said the timeline of her story didn’t line up.
“I recently learned that a woman in Palm Beach, Florida is accusing me of non-consensual acts while I was visiting there in March of this year. She made her allegations after she learned of the April 8, 2021 San Francisco Chronicle story. I have no doubt she is making these allegations in an attempt to leverage the situation to her advantage,” Foppoli said.

Abraham is the ninth woman to accuse Foppoli of sexual misconduct. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the claims, which is also how the department learned of the alleged Palm Beach incident.

Windsor is about 60 miles north of San Francisco and is home to about 27,000 residents. Foppoli was elected mayor in 2018, winning as a Democrat. Foppoli was previously a longtime Republican before switching parties shortly after 2016, according to the Press Democrat.
The mayor’s resignation will be effective immediately.
