Huckabee says it’s time to ‘hack China back’

After four million federal employees had their records hacked, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee believes that it’s time to “hack China back.”

“What will it take for President Obama to open his eyes?” the former Arkansas governor asked. “The way you deal with a bully on the playground is to punch them in the face and put them on the ground because the only thing they respect is power.”

On June 4, the U.S. government announced it was investigating the hacking of records of more than 4 million federal employees. Rep. Mike McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security committee, said he believes that China was responsible for the attacks.

Huckabee went on to say that the U.S. should hack the cellphones of Communist Party leaders, hack bank accounts of intelligence officials and even “publicly humiliate” politically corrupt Chinese families, or “wipe-out a few critical Chinese computer systems.”

Huckabee promised to stand up against China as president and “retaliate with strength.” He condemned the current administration for wiretapping the phones of U.S. allies yet refraining from cracking down on China.

“If the Chinese attacked a military base or government facility, the U.S. would respond in-kind,” Huckabee added. “A cyber attack against America is no different — we must retaliate proportionately and hack China back.”

Huckabee has criticized the Obama administration’s response before. The day the Office of Personnel Management revealed they had suffered the data breach, Huckabee criticized Obama, asking when he will “wake up and defend America.”

“Enough is enough,” Huckabee said on Friday. “China cheats, rips off American products, abuses its people, taunts our allies, and now they’re crawling through our federal government stealing sensitive personal information from millions of people.”
