Republican Greg Abbott is pulling away from Democrat Wendy Davis in the race to replace Rick Perry as governor of Texas.
Poll results released Monday by Houston CBS affiliate KHOU and Houston Public Media show Abbott with a 15-point lead over Davis — his largest lead in the race since late August.
Though Davis gained national attention last year during a 11-hour filibuster in protest of new abortion regulations, analysts say waning support from likely voters and Hispanic voters continues to leave her lagging behind Abbott.
Election Day is Nov. 4.
