Bill Clinton credits Hillary’s nuke record

Former President Bill Clinton said his wife Hillary Clinton was instrumental in preventing the spread of nuclear weapons, the same day that President Obama made a historic visit to the Hiroshima atomic bomb site.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Edison, N.J., Friday, Bill Clinton said Hillary “negotiated the sanctions with Iran and made it possible to prevent the development of the Iranian nuclear program.” He said her actions reduced the threat that other Middle Eastern countries would build up their arsenals.

Clinton also defended his wife’s record as secretary of state, despite this week’s release of the State Department’s inspector general report that concluded her use of a personal email server was against policy.

“As secretary of state, she showed you how to gain support across party lines and how to earn respect throughout the world,” Clinton said.
