A CNN/ORC International poll released Friday shows Rep. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., with a two-point lead over Democratic incumbent Sen. Mark Pryor.
The poll found Cotton with a 49 percent to 47 percent lead over Pryor. The race is a statistical dead heat as the two-point lead for Cotton is within the poll’s 4.5 percent margin of error.
Arkansas is seen as a key state for the GOP as the party looks to overtake the Senate in November. Another key battleground state is Kentucky, where Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is locked in a tight race against Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes. A CNN/ORC poll released earlier this week shows McConnell with a four-point lead over Grimes.
