VIDEO: Ed Gillespie gives one last push for voters in Virginia

On Monday night, Virginia Senate candidate Ed Gillespie gave one last push for voters before Election Day.

“We are going to surprise a lot of the experts in Washington, D.C., here in Virginia tomorrow,” Gillespie said to a crowd of supporters at a get-out-the-vote rally in Sterling, Va.

Gillespie, who is challenging incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Warner, trails in the polls — but that isn’t slowing him down.

The latest polls show Warner at 48.5 percent with Gillespie at 38.8 percent.

Warner’s campaign has outspent Gillespie’s by about $10 million, according to the latest numbers from opensecrets.org.

“We have been outspent, you’ve probably noticed that. But we have not been outworked — and hard work beats big money every time,” Gillespie said.

Gillespie is focusing on the bigger picture of shifting control of the Senate if he, along with other Republicans, win on Nov. 4.

“Not only will Mark Warner become the former senator from Virginia, but Harry Reid will become the former Senate majority leader,” said Gillespie.

Gillespie was joined by Barbara Comstock, who is running for Congress in Virginia’s 10th District, along with Ann Romney who was there to lend her support to the Republican candidates.
