VIDEO: More disappointing poll numbers for Ed Gillespie

It’s another disappointing poll for Ed Gillespie.

Survey results Wednesday show the longtime GOP strategist and former Republican National Committee chair a whopping 20 points behind Democratic Sen. Mark Warner, 46 percent to 27 percent.

The Roanoke College poll results mirror similar numbers released earlier this month from Virginia’s Christopher Newport University and are in line with a disappointing trend for Gillespie.

Nonetheless, the Washington Examiner’s Betsy Woodruff says the Republican remains optimistic.

“Gillespie still says he thinks this race could be winnable, and with just a few dozen days until the election, he’s banking on more excitement among Republican voters and also growing frustration with Warner and his votes with President Obama,” Woodruff said.
