Sanders on what he admires most about Warren: ‘The fact that we have worked together’

2020 presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders struggled to name something he admires about his fellow liberal candidate Elizabeth Warren.

CNN’s Poppy Harlow opted to conclude a Tuesday morning interview with the Vermont senator by asking him what he admires most about the candidate he’s frequently linked to.

“I like to end on a positive note, so very quickly here, everyone’s comparing you to Sen. Elizabeth Warren. You often say she is my friend. Let’s end with something you admire about her. What is the thing you admire most about Sen. Elizabeth Warren as you get ready to take her on on the debate stage?” Harlow asked.

“Well, Sen. Warren is a friend of mine, and I admire the fact we have worked together over the years on a number of issues,” he answered.

Harlow followed up by asking for something “specific” and could be seen and heard chuckling at his response.

Sanders relented, “Look, we’ve worked together on a number of issues, and she is a very good senator.”

Warren and Sanders are scheduled to face off against one another in next Tuesday’s presidential debate after they were split up during the first debate last month.
