Elizabeth Warren gains on Biden in 2020 race: Poll

Elizabeth Warren is gaining ground among Democratic voters as other candidates lose support, according to a new poll.

The ABC News/Washington Post survey released Sunday finds that Joe Biden, 76, still leads the crowded field with 27% support, a 2% drop from the same poll in July.

Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Warren of Massachusetts registered 19% and 17% support, respectively. Sanders, 78, saw a decline of 4% since July, while Warren edged up 6% during the same period.

Warren, 70, is the only candidate who registered in the top five that saw gains. Sen. Kamala Harris of California dropped 4 points to register in fourth at 7% support, while South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg remained steady at 4% support.

Respondents suggested that the Democratic race could change significantly in the coming months. Only 43% of the voters polled said they were committed to the candidates they currently support and 55% said they would be willing to jump to another candidate.
