Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake revealed Monday that she has received endorsements from two major party lawmakers: Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
The endorsements are the latest for the television anchor turned politician, who has also received the backing of former President Donald Trump, Sens. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), and Reps. Byron Donalds (R-FL) and Elise Stefanik (R-NY).
Paul stated in his endorsement that Lake is the “kind of leadership that Arizona needs,” while Gaetz said that Lake “cannot be bought by the establishment.”
“I am thankful to have the endorsement of America First warriors Senator Paul and Rep. Gaetz,” a statement from Lake said. “They have been champions for fiscal responsibility, liberty, and fighting against the Washington War machine. I look forward to working with them to implement President Trump’s agenda.”
Gaetz’s endorsement referencing Lake being unable to be “bought” was likely a reference to a leaked tape in which the chairman of the Arizona GOP, Jeff DeWit, appeared to try to bribe Lake to stay out of the Senate race. DeWit has since resigned.
Lake, who previously ran for governor of Arizona in 2022, is running in the 2024 Senate race for the seat currently held by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), who left the Democratic Party in December 2022. The Senate race could be a three-way competition between Lake, Sinema, and Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ).

Sinema has yet to announce if she will seek reelection. In order to appear on the ballot as an independent, she would need to gather 42,303 signatures by April 4.
Lake is one of several candidates Trump is rumored to be considering as a potential vice president for his 2024 campaign. When asked about the possibility of serving as his vice president last month, Lake declined to comment on the discussions she has had with the former president.
