Republican-led states have made a push against noncitizen voting as the November election approaches, and Louisiana is joining that effort.
Gov. Jeff Landry (R-LA) announced an executive order on Monday designed to reaffirm that voting in elections is only for U.S. citizens by including a disclaimer on forms from state agencies that provide voter registration applications, reminding applicants of that law forbidding noncitizens from registering to vote.
