Billionaire businessman Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States, according to talk radio host Glenn Beck.
“Here’s my prediction, and I stand by it: Donald Trump is going to be the next president of the United States,” he said, according to a transcript provided by his website. “And I don’t think there’s any way around it. I believe Donald Trump will beat Hillary Clinton.”
Prior to predicting Trump’s future in the Oval Office, Beck served as a campaign surrogate to failed GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.
Beck toured constantly with the senator, claiming in several speeches that the Texas lawmaker was the choice of God, and he used his media empire to rail against Trump and his allies.
The conservative commentator also lost nearly half a million dollars of his own money campaigning for Cruz.
After the senator suspended his presidential campaign last week, the talk radio host put on a brave face, and wrote in a blog post, “Civilizations and societies go through waves of belief in Individual Liberty versus belief in Government. So, for now, we’re in the minority. Weather the storm. Believe in our nation’s founding principles, believe in our rights, believe in God, and we will ultimately prevail.”
“No matter who is president and no matter how far down the path to Socialism or Fascism our nation goes, each of us must still stand for Liberty,” he added.
On Wednesday, Beck explained why he thinks Trump will be the next president.
“Hillary Clinton is such a flawed candidate. I’ve said this for a long time. My shoe would beat Hillary Clinton, right? Anything — a rock will beat Hillary Clinton,” he said. “The key to success here is star power. And somebody from the outside that is going to shake things up.”
“Now, 40 percent of Republicans say they’re not happy with Donald Trump. Let’s say 20 percent actually stick by that. Let’s say 20 percent actually stick by that and say, for principles, ‘I’m not going to do it. I’ll find another party,’ or ‘I just won’t for that level on the ticket.'”
“Ten percent, probably maybe — maybe 20 percent will just stay home, and they’ll say, ‘It doesn’t matter.’ But if you can get 30 percent — when was the last time you ever saw a poll that said five percent of Democrats would vote for a Republican?” Beck asked. “Certainly not 30 percent in an exit poll that say they would cross over. That shows how weak of a candidate she is.”
Beck is no stranger to making election year predictions.
Last week, after Cruz suspended his campaign, the talk radio host predicted Trump’s unpopularity would hand Clinton the White House, and said U.S. voters would “never elect another GOP person to high office ever again.”
Earlier than that, in 2012, Beck predicted former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney would defeat President Obama 321 to 217 in an Electoral College landslide.
