The Federal Bureau of Investigation is only going to have “one shot” at taking down Hillary Clinton, according to an intelligence source quoted in a Thursday report.
“In a case like this you get one shot at the queen,” the source told Fox News, speaking in reference to reports that FBI Director James Comey is preparing to interview Clinton personally in the days ahead. “The pressures are enormous on the agents, as the case has to be airtight and perfect.”

The source said that “nearly a dozen” staffers who worked with Clinton at State have received or expected to receive formal interview requests from the bureau, in addition to others connected with the nonprofit Clinton Foundation.
Several media outlets have issued reports over the last several weeks citing sources in the intelligence community who say the FBI is nearing the end of its investigation into Clinton’s use of a private server. The Los Angeles Times reported on Sunday that the agency was likely to soon conclude the investigation with an interview of Clinton herself, while Al Jazeera issued a similar report on Tuesday.
The FBI’s probe began approximately nine months ago in response to concerns that Clinton’s surreptitious use of a private server jeopardized classified information during her tenure as secretary of state. The investigation reportedly expanded in January to look at whether staff at the State Department was used improperly to perform work for the Clinton Foundation.

If the FBI determines wrongdoing connected with the server, it could recommend charges under the Espionage Act, which carry a potential prison sentence of up to 10 years. Misuse of government staff to conduct work at the Foundation would involve lesser charges, likely including conversion or conspiracy to defraud.
