Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stared longingly at a slide of cheesecake at a stop in New York Saturday, brushing off a question about Bernie Sanders to stay focused on cheesecake.
Clinton, who in the past has spoken about the perils of eating on the campaign trail and counts hot peppers as one of her few indulgences, was at Junior’s in New York City, according to the Wall Street Journal’s Erica Orden.
Orden reported Clinton told reporters she wasn’t going to eat any of the cheesecake because she didn’t want to eat in front of reporters. Instead the former New York senator and first lady eyed the cake as Adam and Eve might have gazed at the forbidden apple in Eden.

“I learned early on not to eat in front of all of you,” Clinton told reporters. “So, I’m just sitting here pining, pining for a bite.”
While surrounded by reporters, Clinton was asked if it bothered her that the Vermont senator calls New York Clinton’s adopted home state. After asking the reporter to repeat the question, Clinton laughed and again directed her attention back to the cheesecake.
“Oh, I’m talking cheesecake,” Clinton said. “Cheesecake, look at this fabulous cheesecake.”
