Bernie Sanders on ‘Bernie bros’: ‘We don’t want that crap’

Bernie Sanders condemned “Bernie bros” on Sunday.

On CNN’s “State of the Union” host Jake Tapper asked Sanders about the tendency of his supporters to say sexist things to the supporters of his rival Hillary Clinton online.

“Have you heard about this phenomenon, “Bernie bros?” People who support you, and sometimes attack in very crude and sexist ways …” Tapper asked in the interview.

The Vermont senator rejected them immediately.

“I have heard about it. It’s disgusting. Look, we don’t want that crap,” Sanders said. “We will do everything we can and I think we have tried. Look, anybody who is supporting me that is doing the sexist things is — we don’t want them. I don’t want them. That is not what this campaign is about.”
