Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) will face a competitive general election in November after Austin Theriault won the Republican primary on Tuesday.

The Associated Press called the race for Theriault at 8:52 p.m., almost an hour after the polls closed. Theriault won with 66.3% of the vote with 38% of votes counted as of 9:25 p.m.
