Two Democrats won the first round of elections to replace the late Georgia Rep. David Scott in Georgia‘s 13th District.

The results were hardly a surprise — the Republican who scored highest came in third place without breaking into double digits. Marcye Scott, the daughter of the late congressman, and former Gwinnett County School Board Chairman Everton Blair Jr., with 46.8% and 36.7% of the vote, respectively, and 93% counted, will now advance to the Aug. 25 runoff.
