Mike Rogers refuses to participate in debate over moderator’s ‘bias’

Michigan Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers confirmed he will not participate in a debate scheduled for Tuesday evening, due to concerns the television anchor moderating the event is biased in favor of his Democratic rival.

Rogers, the Republican embroiled in running a tight race against Democrat Abdul el Sayed, declined to participate in the Fox Two Detroit TV debate, accusing moderator Roop Raj of favoritism, including by praising el Sayed as “brilliant.” The Rogers campaign said he remains committed to two previously scheduled debates with el Sayed on different networks set to take place just weeks before the November election.
