The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added four members to its Frontline incumbent protection program on Tuesday, allocating additional resources to safeguarding these lawmakers as Democrats seek to maintain or grow their House majority in a midterm election cycle currently projected to favor Republicans.

The committee also placed 11 candidates in its Red to Blue program, designated for challengers to incumbent Republicans or candidates for a soon-to-be-open seat currently held by a Republican.

According to CQ Roll Call, the incumbents placed in the Frontline program are Reps. David Trone of Maryland’s 6th District, Ann Kuster of New Hampshire’s 2nd District, Teresa Leger Fernandez of New Mexico’s 3rd District, and Frank Mrvan in Indiana’s 1st District.

On its website, the DCCC says its Frontline program is designed to “ensure Democratic Members of Congress from the most competitive seats have both the resources and cutting-edge information they need to execute effective reelection campaigns.”

“This cycle, our Majority hinges on winning these tough Frontline races,” the website says. “These Members need your help to get across the finish line in November 2022.”

In a statement to CQ Roll Call, DCCC Chairman Rep. Sean Maloney (D-NY) said, “Democrats have a deep bench of talented, committed, and fired-up public servants who have a record of service and accomplishment that voters across the country deserve fighting for their families in Washington.”

“Extremist MAGA Republicans’ disastrous agenda for America is on the ballot this November and voters are going to reject it,” Maloney said.
