The Republican, seen as a possible 2024 presidential contender, said there is “still more to do” in the state, touting some of her accomplishments as governor.

“We have been through challenging times but have also accomplished great things together,” she said. “We have the best economy in the nation as well as the best people and quality of life. There is so much more we can do together — I will never forget the South Dakota motto ‘Under God the People Rule.'”
Noem announced she would begin her campaign with over $10 million raised since her last election and over $6.5 million cash on hand. Her campaign manager will be Joe Desilets, who has worked on more than a dozen other campaigns before, including Carly Fiorina’s presidential campaign in Virginia during the 2016 election.
Noem won her first time by a 3-point margin in 2018.
Noem recently came under fire over allegations of nepotism. She was accused of using her position as state governor to help her daughter obtain a real estate appraiser license. Noem sat in on a meeting between her daughter and the state employee overseeing the application. Noem strongly denies she used her position to ask for special treatment for her daughter.
