The Blotter – Man shot to death in NE

A 35-year-old D.C. man was shot and killed in Northeast Washington early Sunday, police said.

Around 5 a.m., police responded to a report of gunshots on the 1400 block of Perry Street NE and found Abdullah R. Fuller a block away, suffering from multiple gunshots  wounds. Fuller was taken to a hospital, where he died four hours later.

Fire at Chilean diplomat’s residence hospitalizes 1

A fire that broke out in the kitchen at Chile’s diplomatic residence in Washington has sent one woman to the hospital.

D.C. fire spokesman Pete Piringer says the 62-year-old staff member suffered serious smoke inhalation at the residence on the 1700 block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. Firefighters were called to the three-story building about 2:45 p.m.

Piringer said damage was moderate and was confined mostly to the kitchen area.

Man, 50, killed crossing street in Silver Spring

Montgomery Count police are investigating the death of a man who was killed while trying to cross a street in Silver Spring.

Police said a 50-year old man was killed around 2 a.m. while trying to cross the southbound lanes of Georgia Avenue near Regina Drive. The driver of the striking vehicle was not injured and remained on the scene.

Teenager arrested in fatal shooting in SW

D.C. police say they’ve arrested a teenager in a deadly Friday night shooting in Southwest Washington.

A 17-year-old District boy was arrested Saturday and charged with murder in the slaying of 20-year-old Derrick Marshall. Police are withholding the suspect’s name because he is a juvenile.

Police found Marshall suffering from a gunshot wound Friday night at the corner of South Capitol and Forrester streets. Marshall was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
