Greyhound bus accident leaves more than a dozen injured: Police

More than a dozen people sustained injuries in an incident involving a Greyhound bus in Georgia, which local authorities said flipped on its side when one of the vehicle’s tires blew out.

The “single vehicle auto accident” was reported as taking place on GA highway 401, at mile marker 182 South along I-75, in the city of Forsyth mid-afternoon, on Saturday, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Monroe County Emergency Services said 13 people were taken for treatment, while the other passengers were driven away in a school bus to another location.

“The vehicle involved is a Greyhound bus which was occupied with approximately 30 passengers,” Monroe police stated.

“There have been multiple injuries reported at this time but non life threatening. A preliminary investigation shows that the bus possibly had a tire blow out. Deputies are still investigating the accident at this time.”
