Herndon-area woman charged after taking fox to mall
A 20-year-old Herndon-area woman was charged with unlawful possession of wildlife after she was seen walking a fox in a skeleton costume for Halloween, Fairfax County Police said.
Police said Alayna Sitterson took the silver cross fox, named Swiper, to the Reston Town Center on Sunday morning. Animal control officers determined Sitterson did not have the proper permits issued by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. The owner told officers that Swiper is neutered, litter-box trained and vaccinated for rabies.
Swiper will be held at the animal shelter until it is determined whether a special permit will be issued for him.

Last year, police searched Lewis’ home and found a firearm and numerous photographs and computer images of the victims. Police also found two adult prostitutes living at the house.
