Another toddler falls from window
A 2-year-old girl fell from a third-story window in Falls Church, three days after a boy died after he fell from a third-story window in Reston. The girl was playing with siblings Tuesday when she fell. Her injuries were not life-threatening. On Saturday, a 2-year-old boy, Agastya Kayath, fell three stories after leaning against a window screen. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. No charges were expected to be filed, police said.
Metrobus strikes pedestrian
A Metrobus struck a pedestrian in Southeast D.C., sending the man to a local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. The crash occurred at 8:48 p.m. Tuesday as a W2 bus was turning right from Irving Street onto Alabama Avenue SE, said Metro spokeswoman Cathy Asato. The driver, who has been operating Metrobuses since 2003, was tested for drugs and alcohol, then put on paid leave as is standard during an accident investigation, she said.
