Former University of Virginia lacrosse player George W. Huguely V was indicted Monday by a grand jury on six charges, including first-degree murder, in the death of fellow lacrosse player and former girlfriend Yeardley Love.
Besides first-degree murder, Huguely, 23, is facing charges of felony murder, robbery, burglary, entering a house with intent to commit a felony, and grand larceny.
Huguely’s defense team has argued that Love’s death was an accident.
Charlottesville Circuit Court Judge Edward Hogshire set a trial date for Feb. 6, 2012. A motions hearing is scheduled for Nov. 7.
