Feds answer back to Md.’s helicopter crash suit Maryland is being sued by the federal government, which claims a state-employed pilot caused a 2008 helicopter crash in Prince George’s County that killed four passengers in 2008. The claim filed in federal court Friday is a response to a $4 million suit filed by Maryland that claims Federal Aviation Administration air-traffic controllers improperly directed the pilot, according to the Baltimore Sun. The medevac helicopter crashed in Walker Mill Regional Park while carrying two car accident victims. One of the accident victims was the sole survivor of the crash.
Va. woman charged after cat remains found at home
A 50-year-old Fairfax County woman has been charged with six counts of animal cruelty after authorities found 20 to 30 dead cats in her home. Pamela Louise Wykle of Summerfield Drive in Herndon turned herself in to county police Sunday after authorities found the remains of the pets on April 5. Wykle left a total of 27 cats in her home when she left during the holiday season and never returned. She has been charged with two counts of failure to properly dispose of dead animals and two counts of maintaining unsanitary conditions.
Prince William police investigate string of thefts from vehicles
Prince William County police are investigating a string of thefts from vehicles that occurred over the weekend in Montclair. Police responded on Sunday to a report of larceny in seven vehicles parked in the area of Waterway Drive and Fallstone Place. The investigation revealed various items, including a handgun magazine and ammunition, were reported missing, according to police. All the vehicles had been left unlocked.
