U.S. marshals are looking for a suspected heroin and cocaine dealer, and they are asking the public for information that can lead to his arrest. In 2009, 24-year-old Raymond Jenkins skipped a hearing to faces charges of dealing heroin, and in 2010, while still a fugitive, was indicted on charges of distribution of cocaine.

Jenkins, who is known to hang out in the Potomac Gardens area near Capitol Hill, has an arrest history dating back to 2005 that includes carrying a pistol without a license, robbery and assault on a police officer.

Marshals deputies say they are seeking leads to bring him to justice.

“With prior weapons and drug charges, Jenkins should be considered a threat to the community,” said Deputy Jason Matthew.

Jenkins, who is also known as Raymond Mathis, is listed as being 5-foot-10 and 140 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding Jenkins’ whereabouts is urged to call Matthew or the U.S. Marshals Service at 301-489-1717 or 800-336-0102.

Tips from readers of The Washington Examiner have led to the arrest of 35 fugitives in the D.C. area in the past three years, including convicted murderers, kidnappers, pedophiles, rapists and scam artists.

The Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, run by the U.S. Marshals Service, is composed of 30 federal, state and local agencies from Baltimore to Norfolk. The unit has captured more than 33,000 fugitives since its creation in 2004.
