Investigators are looking for the man who committed an armed robbery at a downtown District bank last week. The robbery happened at the TD Bank located at 901 Seventh St. NW, which is a few blocks from the Gallery Place Metro stop in Chinatown, at about 9:30 a.m. on May 2, according to the FBI.
After robbing the bank, the man was spotted fleeing east on the 600 block of I Street NW. That’s where he was last seen, and the FBI is still trying to track him down.
No new leads have surfaced about the perpetrator, FBI spokeswoman Lindsay Godwin said.
She said the suspect is not believed to be responsible for any other bank robberies in the area.
FBI is classifying the suspect as “armed and dangerous,” Godwin said.
He is described as a white man who is in his early-to-mid-30s and has a medium build, according to an FBI wanted poster. He is about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds.
The suspect has a goatee and a mustache, the FBI wanted poster says.
He was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket with a hood, a black hat, black jeans, dark sunglasses and blue and white tennis shoes. The brand of the shoes may have been New Balance.
Anyone with information about the bank robbery case is asked to call the FBI’s Washington field office at 202-278-2000.
