  • A newspaper deliveryman pleaded guilty Thursday to using credit cards that he stole from mailboxes along his route in Montgomery County.

Andre Tyler, 42, of Germantown, was a newspaper delivery man for WilCan Services, LLC, a contractor for The Washington Examiner newspaper. From December 2010 until his arrest in May, Tyler took mail from the boxes along his route, kept the credit cards, and tossed the other mail, prosecutors said. His route was in the Gaithersburg and Germantown area, mainly off Route 108.

Tyler used the cards until they stopped working, stealing between $5,000 and $10,000 worth of  merchandise, services and cash, prosecutors said.

He faces up to 15 years in prison, authorities said.
