Fairfax County wrestling coach caught in online sex sting
A 26-year-old assistant wrestling coach has been accused of soliciting sex from a sheriff’s deputy posing online as a 14-year-old girl, authorities said,
Between July 10 and 14, Gary Anthony Debrielle had a series of online conversations with a Spotsylvania County sheriff’s deputy posing as a 14-year-old girl that “turned sexual in nature,” a sheriff’s office spokeswoman said.
Police traced his screen name to Debrielle’s Chantilly home, learned he was a part-time wrestling coach at Woodson High School and arrested him.
Employee found dead in pizza parlor
District authorities say the body of a man who died of traumatic injuries was found inside a Northeast pizza parlor. Police have not yet released the man’s name, but say he was found dead around 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Pizza Mart on the 2300 block of Fourth Street. Police say he worked at the restaurant.
31 arrested at weekend Phish show
Howard County police say they spent their weekend corralling 31 people attending a Phish show at the Merriweather Post Pavilion, charging 20 of them with drug possession. In addition, seven people were charged with dealing drugs, two were charged with assault and two with trespassing, police said. About 20,000 people attended the show.
D.C. fire department rescues construction worker
A construction worker who fell down a utility shaft in Northeast was rescued Tuesday morning by firefighters, a fire department spokesman said. The man fell about 20 feet from a building under construction on the unit block of K Street. Plywood broke his fall, and he’s expected to recover.
