A Prince George’s County man has been accused of raping an 8-year-old girl in Dumfries in 2010.
Prince William County police said a rape that happened at a Dumfries residence sometime in August or September 2010 was reported to authorities in January. Investigators obtained a warrant for 34-year-old Robert H. Floyd, who was an acquaintance of the girl, police said.
Authorities couldn’t track Floyd down until last week, when deputies from the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office took him into custody after receiving a tip that he was living in Largo.
Floyd was arrested and charged with rape. He was being held Monday without bond.
