A Manassas man was arrested Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting two boys in 1978 while he was their T-ball coach, police said.
Dennis Reed Dyer, 58, was charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child, Prince William County police said. He is being held without bond.
On Jan. 24, police investigated a reported 1978 sexual assault involving a boy who was then 6 or 7 years old. Authorities said Dyer allegedly sexually assaulted the boy at the victim’s Manassas home.
After additional investigation, detectives learned Dyer had also allegedly sexually assaulted another boy in 1978 who was 7 or 8 years old. That alleged incident also occurred in Manassas, police said.
