A bank bandit in Montgomery County had an unusual getaway vehicle.
Police say a man robbed a bank in the White Oak section of Silver Spring at gunpoint in the middle of the afternoon, then biked away from the scene.
The M&T Bank located at 11161 New Hampshire Ave. was robbed at about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Montgomery County police said.
A man entered the bank and pointed a handgun at a teller. He obtained an undisclosed amount of cash, then pedaled away from the scene on a bicycle, police said.
No one was injured during the robbery.
No arrests have been made, and Montgomery County police and the FBI are investigating the incident.
The suspect is described as a black man who is in his early-to-mid 20s. Police said he is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds.
At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a black jacket with a hood, black jeans and black shoes. He was armed with a black handgun.
