Montgomery County police have identified a woman who was struck by a tractor-trailer in Silver Spring Sunday.
Denise Eidem, 66, of Northeast D.C., was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the collision, police said.
The incident occurred about 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road. Montgomery County police said Eidem was crossing southbound Georgia Avenue while she had a traffic signal telling her not to cross. The tractor-trailer, which had a green traffic signal arrow, was making a left turn onto the road.
Eidem had stopped at the median strip but then continued walking and was struck by the trailer’s rear wheels. The driver, 45-year-old Jose Antonio Arguelles, stopped his vehicle and remained at the scene. Police said that Arguelles, of Miami, was determined not to be at fault.
