Virginia woman pleads guilty in murder-for-hire plot

A Loudoun County woman has admitted that she hired what she thought was a hitman to kill her boyfriend’s mistress.

Ann Cinnamon pleaded guilty to murder for hire on Wednesday in federal court in Alexandria, according to court records.

The 41-year-old Sterling woman admitted that she met last fall with someone who agreed to “help her out with a problem” — harming her boyfriend’s mistress — according to court documents. That person then called the FBI, which began monitoring the pair’s conversations.

The informant said he could arrange for a “friend” to hurt or kill the mistress. In October, he told Cinnamon that his “friend” needed to know whether she wanted the mistress killed.

“That is exactly what I want done,” Cinnamon said, according to court papers. Cinnamon said she wanted the woman “gone,” saying, “Gone is killed, dead, gone, I want nothing left, no remains, nothing.”

They made arrangements for Cinnamon to pay a total of $500 for the killing, court documents say.

Cinnamon could face up to 10 years in prison, according to her plea agreement. She is scheduled to be sentenced before U.S. District Judge Liam O’Grady on May 4.
